The Bel Vector 955 radar detector offers performance at a value price. With the Beltronics 955, you get the performance of Bel's Vector line of detectors, without the price of the more feature-packed 965 and 995 models.
The RMR-C435 a.k.a VIPER II detector transmits a series of pulses at the same wave length used by the police laser guns (Lidar), which are electronically timed at about 100 feet apart. The power output is four to eight times that needed to trigger the detector in the laser gun.
The XTR-690 also offers all of the features you would expect in a high performance detector. It will detect POP mode radar and provides Whistler's Real Voice™ alerts. The XTR-690 provides a blue back-lit text display, identical to the display on other high end XTR series models. A digital compass is also provided.
